Honor for My Mom

Who is it that loves me and will love me forever
with an affection which no chance, no misery,
no crime of mine can do away?...
My dear mother, with the truthfulness of a
Mother’s heart, ministered to all my woes,
Outward and inward, and even against hope
Kept prophesying good.

Thomas Carlyle

President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day. He established the day as a time for "public expression of our love and reverence for the mothers of our country."
On this day devoted to public expression of mothers everywhere I want to recognize my mom and her tireless love to me and her family. Thank you, Mom for giving me life and for adding so much value to my life over the years with your gracious love & friendship.
So let's give it up for our moms. We can list off so many great things about our moms. Afterall they are the one person in life who will love you NO MATTER WHAT... right? You can count on it.
With the long list of qualities our moms possess.... what is the one thing you love most about your mom?
I'll go first. My mom always greets me with a warm and happy welcome. No matter how she is feeling or what time of day or night it is I know that if I call her on the phone or wherever I might happen to see her it's as if her voice & face lights up when she greets me. I know she will always stop what she's doing to talk to me. That just makes me feel good all over no matter how I'm feeling.

A tribute to Mom

On this very special day in which we honor mothers I would like to honor mine. My mom is a wonderful woman. She has touched many people's lives with her love and through her sacrificial attitude of service, none more so than her children. We have been blessed to have been raised by such a strong woman with a servant's heart. Most of all she has lead by example and passed on a godly legacy to her children. She has imparted wisdom and the Word of God into our lives and forever shaped our values and character.

Hebrews 12:7 Remember those who led you; who spoke the Word of God to you,
and considering the result of their conduct imitate their faith.

This scripture immediately makes me think of my mom, and it challenges me. My mom is so strong in her faith, and it is my desire to imitate her faith to the best of my ability.

1 Thess. 5:12But we request of you, brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, and have charge over you in the Lord and give you instruction,

I could not truly honor my mom without thanking her for all the work she put in raising her three children and running our home. She has always worked diligently to provide a loving home, wisdom, advice, and instruction. She took her charge as a mother seriously, and I am eternally grateful that she took the time and made the effort to create such a wonderful family atmosphere and to impart wisdom and instruction into my life.

My mom has always been there for me, both in my childhood and now in my adult life. I can honestly say that she has guided me through the best and the darkest times of my life with grace and wisdom that only comes from being a faithful studier of God's Word, and living out the truth found in it.

I love you mom and thank you for all your work, your wisdom, and your love. Have a blessed Mother's Day.
