I've always voted my moral beliefs first. Some do. Some don't think it is as important as things like the economy. The economy will change for the better and for the worse, depending on so many factors, my friends.
Core beliefs are what we live by! Many of them are at stake this election. There is a great divide between the beliefs of the candidates.

Barack Obama's stand on abortion is appalling ...so radical , in fact, that the candidate would deny some babies born alive urgent medical care. As far as I'm concerned this one thing tells more about the man than even his outrageous connections with known terrorists and his lack of experience.
Think about it. Then make sure you get to the polls and vote! And take people with you...
The Catholics have been pro-life from the beginning. They have done a lot for getting the pro-life message out to this country. I'm not Catholic but I appreciate them for their stand on this. By the way, Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi claim to be Catholic but they also claim to be abortion advocates.
John McCain and Sarah Palin do not waver on their support for life at conception... and they have a record to prove it.

WOW! I'm not Catholic, either, but that is probably the BEST video I have seen this election year. It made me weep. God help us.
i agree with pat this is powerful. i wish ALL people could see this. i just feel like asking every obama supporter are you
pro-abortion. because that is what is at stake, life itself.
this is the most important lesson i learned while dave went thru his stuff, life itself is THE gift.

Since I am in Atlanta this week with over 1400 pro-life workers, there have been some very interesting and insightful discussions going on...life is a major issue at hand. Yes, I understand there other issues as well, but it's LIFE. This morning the keynote speaker, a pastor from Philadelphia, encouraged the audience to go "one more round" when it comes to defending life. We need a President and a Vice-President who are also willing to go "one more round" with us. When it comes to that, the choice is clear!

It's amazing that so many of us think alike yet, the polls have McCain/Palin down. I hope we all come out on Nov. 4h and vote for the "right" person. If every voter who claims to be a true believer, McCain would win hands down. How could any Christian vote for a candidate who thinks giving an opinion on abortion is "above his pay grade?" He is not Obama - he is an abomination.
Patricia: The Catholics have always been right on LIFE... I thank God for their consistent stand.
Marmee: I've maintained for a long time now that our culture has lost a basic respect for life. When a society doesn't value life from birth to old age and everything in between we are sliding down a slippery slope of losing our moral values all the way around. I think we can see how this has happened in our country.
mjm: I can only imagine some of the discussions around this issue where you are this week.
We must understand and never underestimate what is at stake here. Not so much to overturn Roe v. Wade (which no President can do alone)but more to have another President that values LIFE... because when you value LIFE you have a basic moral fortitude that IMO affects every other decision you make.
fran: Welcome. You know, I'd venture to say you and I have probably never been polled. Bush was behind in the polls in 2000 and in 2004. It was the likes of folks like us that went to the voting booth to vote our beliefs and subsequently stunned the mainstream media and all the liberal elites when Bush won over Gore and Kerry- two men we couldn't afford to have in the White House either!
We must keep our heads up and continue to rally for McCain/Palin and not let the media get us down about how things look right now.
There is an article on Drudge today from the head bishop in America, rebuking both Biden and Pelosi and calling for all priests to refuse communion to politcians who support abortion. I'm not Catholic either, but they sure don't waver on abortion, which in a society full of wavering is refreshing to find!
When it comes to voting morals, I find it so distressing to hear Christians say, "Well, I personally believe such and such is wrong, but I don't want to force my beliefs on others or have the government legislate my religious beliefs...after all that's what the separation of church and state was created for."
NOoooooooooooo, that's not what separation of church & state was created for. But also, things like abortion shouldn't be about "religion." If we defined abortion as murder, it would cease to be about faith in God and once again be about civic duty and easy-to-legislate morality. We don't let people murder people. Right? Yet, that's one of the 10 Commandments. Maybe we should stop making murder against the law, since that's still legislating morals and forcing religion upon others. Some people may WANT to kill, rape, and steal. And even though I personally think those things are wrong, why should I be allowed to force my beliefs on others?
Ridiculous.
And lastly, if we really believed some of what we claim to, we couldn't idly and silently stand by and vote for someone who believes the opposite. Even if I agreed with Obama's fiscal policies (which I don't, given that he's hellbent on creating a socialist, government-run, wellfare state), I would not forfeit my beliefs about the sanctity of life in favor of money. How much is my soul worth? It's not for sale.
