Just ONE Passage

Do you ever run across a scripture - just one scripture- that in and of itself (and I'm not talking about taking it out of context) encompasses so much Truth and it causes such pause in your spirit as to stop you in your tracks?

Of course, all scripture is right and true and to be taken seriously. But I'm talking about one scripture that makes you think... gee, if I could "get" just this one thing so settled in my heart and not waiver off of it so many things in my life would be fixed or set aright. I believe a consecrated life with God really can be that simple.

There are many such passages in the Bible that have had that kind of impact on me over the years. But I'll share three of them I keep running across lately in reading I John. [If you know me at all you know I get "stuck" in places in the Bible and for some reason (hmmm??? I wonder) the Spirit of God encourages me to stay with them for days, weeks, and sometimes months at a time. Suppose I'm a slow learner?]

Anyway, read these few if you wish and just see if they strike you the same way. If you'd care to share --I'd love to hear-- if this is the same way God deals with your heart ever. Or maybe you'd like to share a way you've noticed He deals with you. Maybe it's the same, maybe it's different than me.

I John 5:3 NLT
Loving God means keeping His commandments, and really, that isn't difficult.

I John 5:21 NLT
Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God's place in your hearts.

I John 2: 28 NLT
And now, dear children, continue to live in fellowship with Christ so that when He returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from Him in shame.

just got a chance to read this...i love the last scripture...who wants to shrink back after living a life for him but that can happen if you let things get in the way of your relationship with Him.
