The Blood Speaks

Whew! Where are you people who write to this blog? I have definitely been missing in action from posting to this blog. Thanks to Nathan Talbot for holding down the fort... sort of. MLM, you out there or have you gone home?

Anyway, I have a couple of reasons (read: excuses) to lay down for my absence. My computer crashed in the beginning of June and it took a couple of weeks for me to get up and at 'em again. Now I have a desktop and a laptop so woo-hoo... a little back-up action. Then I was out of town and the last one is even more lame... I do confess to having another blog. Gasp. Who in the world has time for two blogs?

To get back in the swing of things I thought I'd share a song with you that just keeps rolling around in my head and heart for the past several days. I absolutely love Matt Redman's version of this song even though the video here isn't all that exciting. Stay with it until he begins to sing, "praise you for the blood" out of his own heart-song. It just makes me weak in the knees every time I meditate on Jesus spilling his life-blood for me. This song worships God and acknowledges the fact that the blood still speaks today.

You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel. Heb. 12:24

I am so glad to see a new post today. Thanks for sharing the song...I must confess I had never heard that one before. I have heard the original of "Nothing But the Blood".

Glad your back too! NT did do a good job while you were...let's say preoccupied.

Thanks for sharing that video. Like mjm I had never heard that version and it was really good. Going to be adding that one to the itunes library.

What a wonderful reminder of the power of Jesus blood and how that translates to the here and now for us.

Glad your back in business with the computer. I was struggling keeping this blog updated.

mjm: yeah, I was beginning to wonder if any of us were alive myself. I always know I can plug that song in my ears at any moment or any situation and the worship I enter into lifts me to higher places... guaranteed.

NT:You will love having this one in your i-pod... don't try to run or workout though ... you won't be able to keep standing.

Uh oh MLM you just gave away that you didn't read the post, and just watched the vid. What is Meems going to think?

Matt Redman is singing, as mentioned in the post. ;)
