A tribute to Mom

On this very special day in which we honor mothers I would like to honor mine. My mom is a wonderful woman. She has touched many people's lives with her love and through her sacrificial attitude of service, none more so than her children. We have been blessed to have been raised by such a strong woman with a servant's heart. Most of all she has lead by example and passed on a godly legacy to her children. She has imparted wisdom and the Word of God into our lives and forever shaped our values and character.

Hebrews 12:7 Remember those who led you; who spoke the Word of God to you,
and considering the result of their conduct imitate their faith.

This scripture immediately makes me think of my mom, and it challenges me. My mom is so strong in her faith, and it is my desire to imitate her faith to the best of my ability.

1 Thess. 5:12But we request of you, brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, and have charge over you in the Lord and give you instruction,

I could not truly honor my mom without thanking her for all the work she put in raising her three children and running our home. She has always worked diligently to provide a loving home, wisdom, advice, and instruction. She took her charge as a mother seriously, and I am eternally grateful that she took the time and made the effort to create such a wonderful family atmosphere and to impart wisdom and instruction into my life.

My mom has always been there for me, both in my childhood and now in my adult life. I can honestly say that she has guided me through the best and the darkest times of my life with grace and wisdom that only comes from being a faithful studier of God's Word, and living out the truth found in it.

I love you mom and thank you for all your work, your wisdom, and your love. Have a blessed Mother's Day.

NT: Gee, I am all teary eyed reading these words and thinking back over time. I was just saying earlier today that my children raised me as much as I raised them. We grew together over the years- learning together and sticking with it together. You and your sister and brother are a greater joy and blessing to my mother's heart than I can possibly describe with words.

I admire you all for the wonderful people you are and for each making the choice you have to love God with all your hearts. It has been my privilege all these wonderful years to be a mom to my three kind, generous, loving (and smart too)children. Might I say it has been my greatest blessing in life.

You've all made my job easy and you all make me look very good!

Thank you for the tribute - it fills my mother's heart to overflowing.
